Banglalink has rolled out Voice over WiFi (VoWiFi) in Bangladesh for the first time, allowing customers to make calls over WiFi networks without extra charges.
The digital operator said in a media statement that the new service will ensure clearer and more reliable voice calls, particularly indoors where mobile coverage is often weak.
Customers can get the service at home, in offices, or other WiFi-enabled spaces.
Initially launched on a pilot basis with selected internet service providers, VoWiFi is being introduced for both individual and corporate users in parts of Dhaka and Chattogram.
The company plans to gradually expand coverage nationwide.
Banglalink CEO Johan Buse said the service reflects the operator’s focus on easing communication for its subscribers.
“VoWiFi will make staying connected simpler, clearer, and more reliable helping our customers enjoy a seamless digital lifestyle wherever they are,” he said.
Alongside its MyBL app, Toffee, RYZE and enterprise services, Banglalink said VoWiFi adds to its efforts to strengthen digital connectivity and support Bangladesh’s transition to a more connected future.
