Dhaka, Nov 1 (bdnews24.com) – Biman has launched online ticket booking.
Managing director of the national flag carrier, Zakiul Islam, inaugurated the online booking system and the new official website at Biman headquarters, Balaka Bhaban on Monday.
Zakiul said that the online booking is being introduced to provide customers with a high-tech service. He hopes that customers will also be able to make payments online within the two months.
The flag carrier has 36 ticketing outlets. Of them, eight are in Bangladesh, and the remaining are abroad. To add to that about 1000 agencies sell Biman tickets globally.
Zakiul said that once tickets are paid for online, customers can either take a print out or take the ticket number to any ticketing outlet to collect the ticket.
In case the ticket is not collected within 24 hours of its purchase, it will be cancelled.
Biman Bangladesh flies 1.5 million passengers a year with 13 carriers connecting 19 international and four national destination. Of the 13 carriers, eight are owned by Biman and five are rented.
