They were nabbed from a private clinic, Surgiscope, in Panchlaish, around 5:30pm on Monday, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (north) Md Shahidullah said.

They were in police custody, he said.

Four people have so far been detained in connection with the incident.

Earlier in the day, police detained, from the Halishahar General Hospital, two other persons injured in the explosion.

Halishahar Police Station OC Shahjahan Kabir told bdnews24.com that they were undergoing treatment in that private hospital.

Both men have been sent to the Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) for better medical care.

Of them one was identified as Salman, 25, of Sunamganj, son of Abdul Hai.

The identity of the other, presumably in his early Twenties, was yet to be ascertained, police said.

The OC said both had been injured in the explosion at the madrasa.

CMCH police outpost Nayek Pankaj Barua said the detainees were brought to the hospital around 2:30 pm.

Both had burn injuries, he said.

The explosion occurred around 11:00am on Monday at the Jameyatul Ulum Al Islamia Madrasa run by the Hifazat-e-Islam central leader Mufti Izaharul Islam Chowdhury.

According to madrasa inmates and police, the fire started after an UPS or a laptop exploded.

Police had thrown a cordon around the madrasa until 3:00pm.
