Bogra, Oct 21 (BDNEWS) - Direct road communication with Joypurhat has been snapped as the Bailey bridge over the river Gangnoi was damaged at Kichke under Shibganj upazila of the district, the locals said Friday.
The motor vehicles are plying through alternative route at Aliarhat travelling additional four to five kilometres.
The bailey bridge was damaged on Wednesday night when a truck loaded with goods was crossing over it.
The vehicles are reportedly taking additional fare from the passengers.
Although Whip Rezaul Bari Dina laid foundation stone of a bridge over the river Gangnoi on April 4, 2004, but the construction work has been stopped because of fund crisis.
