PM inaugurates new facilities in Dhaka Cantonment

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has inaugurated several facilities in the Dhaka Cantonment including two residential areas and a number of offices.

She was welcomed by senior officers of the armed forces including Chief of Army Staff General Iqbal Karim Bhuiyan and Quarter Master General Lt Gen Anwar Hussain on her arrival at the cantonment on Wednesday.

She opened the Niswarga Residential Area for the soldiers of the Shaheed Mostafa Kamal Line, a modern office, and the Sainik Line of the 57 East Bengal Regiment, Nirjhar Residential Area for officers, Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) and soldiers and the head office of the Sena Paribar Kalyan Samity "Surjyakanya".

PM's Security Advisor Major General (retd) Tarique Ahmed Siddique, PM's Special Envoy and Jatiya Party Chairman Hussain Muhammad Ershad, Chief of Army Staff General Iqbal Karim Bhuiyan, Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Muhammad Enamul Bari, Acting Chief of Naval Staff Rear Admiral AMMM Awrangazeb Chowdhury and Senior Secretary of the Defence Ministry Kazi  Habibul Awal were present.
