Fire breaks out at Chittagong garment factory

A fire at a Chittagong garment factory has gutted goods worth Tk 1 million.

The fire broke out around 5am on Tuesday at ‘Boromia Fashion Garments’ in Khatunganj of the port city.

Five fire fighting units from Nandankanon and Lama put out the flames after  75 minutes , said divisional fire service’s control room officer Bishu Das.

The factory is located on the top floor of a five-storey building in Amin Market area under Kotwali Police Station.

Electric malfunction led to the fire, he suspected.
