Two people have been killed after a truck crashed into a broken-down truck in Bogura.
The incident occurred at the flyover in front of the Silimpur Rural Electrification Board Office on the Dhaka-Bogura Highway at 8am on Sunday, according to Hafizur Rahman, chief of Kundarhat Highway Police Station.
The names and identities of the dead have yet to be confirmed.
Hafizur said that a Dhaka-bound truck broke down in front of the Rural Electrification Board office and another truck headed for Dhaka rammed into it from the back around 8am.
The front of the second truck was smashed in the accident and two people died on the spot.
The police official added that Highway Police and Fire Service personnel are conducting rescue work at the scene. The rescue work has led to traffic congestion on the highway.
