The Power Division has opened a dedicated control room to help maintain uninterrupted electricity supply and speed up responses to flood-related outages across the country.

An office order issued on Sunday said the control room has been set up on the 14th floor of Bidyut Bhaban in Dhaka's Ramna and will operate daily, including public holidays, from 7am to 9pm until Jul 31.

Consumers can report outages by calling 02-47120309 or 01739000293, with the mobile number remaining available for emergencies after operating hours.

Officials and staff will serve on a rotational roster, with at least one officer on duty each day to coordinate with power distribution companies and ensure immediate action on reported disruptions.

Cases requiring further intervention will be escalated to higher authorities.

The control room will also work closely with the Power Division's integrated 16999 hotline.

The directive has been circulated to all major power agencies, including BPDB, BREB, PGCB, DPDC, DESCO, WZPDCL and NESCO.
