Abu Sayed murder suspect escapes as police launch raid in Rangpur

Police say the operation was launched based on a tip-off

A murder suspect in the case of Abu Sayed, who was killed in Rangpur’s Pirgachha Upazila during the July Uprising, has fled after noting the police's presence during a raid.

The suspect, Nahid Hasan Liton, is the organisational secretary of the district Jubo League.

Pirgachha police chief AKM Khandoker Munibbul Islam said the raid was conducted at Liton’s home on Tuesday evening based on a confidential tip-off, but he managed to flee before being caught.
