Bogra, Feb 27 (BDNEWS) – Dr Asadullah Al Galib, professor of Arabic Department of Rajshahi and leader of Jamaatul Mujahedin, a banned outfit, was sent to the Joint Interrogation Cell (JIC) in Dhaka Sunday.
Earlier, Saturday night police produced him before the court of magistrate Mostafizur Rahman Mridha seeking 12-day remand but the court granted 10 days.
Rajshahi police caught him on February 6 and shown him arrested in bomb explosion cases filed with Gabtoli and Shahjahanpur police.
Galib, later, was taken to Bogra jail from Rajshahi Saturday evening.
According to another source, Galib might be taken into the second phase of remand on charges of his link with the bomb blasts at BRAC and Grameen Bank offices, and other places of northern part of the country, after completion the present term interrogation.
A man was killed and 40 others sustained injuries in a bomb blast at a jatra programme at Likola village in Bogra on January 14. The members of JMJB believed to have carried out the attack.
Later, police arrested Shafiullah, a member of JMJB, from the house of Jainal in Chakdu village. He was also taken to JIC. The arrested youths confessed his involvement with the attack and claimed Galib as his leader.
