The Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) has introduced a fresh Metro Rail timetable for the holy month of Ramadan.
According to a notice on Tuesday, the updated timetable will remain in effect from the first day of Ramadan until the day before Eid-ul-Fitr, adjusting train timings in line with changing office hours.
Under the new schedule, the first train from Uttara North to Motijheel will depart at 6:30am, with the last at 9:30pm. On the other end of the route, the first train will leave Motijheel at 7:15am, and the last at 10:10pm.
During peak hours, trains will run every 8 to 10 minutes, and every 10 to 15 minutes during off-peak periods
DMTCL has allowed passengers observing fasts to carry water bottles up to 250 millilitres, cautioning that water should not spill and used bottles must be disposed of at designated spots.
Eating is prohibited on platforms, concourses and inside trains.
Train timings on Saturdays and other public holidays will remain unchanged.
