Foreign Advisor Touhid Hossain has called on the international community to hold Israel accountable for what he described as “unlawful military aggression” against Iran.
He used the OIC platform in Istanbul on Saturday to warn that Israel’s such “reckless actions” could destabilise the region and undermine global peace, the state news agency Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) reported.
Delivering his written statement at the 51st session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers, Touhid said the global community must act collectively to safeguard peace through diplomacy and adherence to international norms.
“Bangladesh calls for an immediate end to such provocations,” he addded.
The advisor described the Israeli attack as a “blatant act of aggression” and “a grave violation of international law, the UN Charter, and Iran’s sovereignty.”
Touhid also condemned Israeli attacks on Palestinians in Gaza.
“This continues to result in the loss of innocent lives, destruction of civilian infrastructure, and systematic violations of international human rights and humanitarian law,” he said.
Touhid said the Rohingya crisis has become untenable and could act as a “threat multiplier”, posing risks to both regional and global security.
He maintained that the only lasting solution lies in ensuring a safe, voluntary, and dignified return to their homeland in Myanmar’s Rakhine State.
