Four young leaders from Bangladesh have been named among the recipients of the QECT 100 Young Leaders Awards 2026, an initiative to honour outstanding changemakers across the Commonwealth.
The awardees are Shah Rafayat Chowdhury of Footsteps Bangladesh, Munia Islam Mozumder of Teach for Bangladesh, Imran Hamin of Farm Solution BD, and Md Rezwanul Islam Shuvo of Eco Sentinels Bangladesh.
The Queen Elizabeth II Commonwealth Trust (QECT) announced the list of 100 awardees on Tuesday as part of a special initiative marking what would have been the 100th birthday of Queen Elizabeth II on Apr 21, 2026.
According to a statement from the British High Commission in Dhaka, the awards recognise 100 exceptional young changemakers from across the Commonwealth.
The initiative commemorates the late Queen’s centenary and celebrates her enduring belief in the power of young people to strengthen communities and shape the future.
The high commission said the awardees were selected through a highly competitive process from thousands of applications.
They represent impactful work across education and employability, environment, food and agriculture, health, and inclusion.
“The awards honour young leaders whose initiatives are transforming communities and addressing some of the Commonwealth’s most pressing challenges,” the statement said.
Over the coming months, the awardees will take part in curated engagements, capacity-building opportunities, and global networking to amplify their work and strengthen their impact.
British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Sarah Cooke congratulated the winners, saying: “Congratulations to the four young leaders from Bangladesh recognised among the QECT 100. Their work reflects the shared Commonwealth values of inclusion and innovation and honours Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s enduring commitment to empowering young people to shape a better future.”
