The BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology (BUFT) has inaugurated the third intake of its BUFT-SICIP Programme, awarded certificates to first and second intake trainees, and hosted a job fair in an effort to promote skills development and employment opportunities through the initiative.
The multi-event ceremony, held at its campus auditorium on Saturday, was attended by Faruque Hassan, chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT) at BUFT, according to the university.
The programme was presided over by Prof Ayub Nabi Khan, vice-chancellor (designate) and advisor to the BUFT-SICIP Programme.
The event featured a prominent lineup of special guests, including BUFT BoT Member Riaz Bin Mahmud; Syeda Amina Fahmeen, additional secretary and DEPD (PM-3); TIM Zahid Hossain, advisor to the Shin Shin Group; Prof Md Alamgir Hossain, acting pro-vice chancellor of BUFT; Rafiquzzaman, BUFT registrar; Maureen Karim, deputy secretary and AEPD (PM-3) SICIP; and Mainul Hasan, DEPD (FM).
The gathering brought together university deans, departmental directors, academic and administrative leaders, faculty members, students, government representatives, and garment sector leaders, highlighting the tripartite cooperation between academia, government, and industry.
