Gazipur teacher dies after being hit by train during morning walk

The incident takes place along the Tongi–Bhairab rail line in Kaliganj

A teacher has been killed after being struck by a train in Gazipur's Kaliganj Upazila.

The incident happened on Friday morning in the Nalchhata area along the Tongi–Bhairab railway line, according to Kaliganj Police Station chief (OC) Md Zakir Hossain.

The victim was identified as Kamal Christopher Rosario, 65, an English teacher at Panjora Girls’ High School.

The school’s head teacher Sister Mary Debashish also confirmed his death.

Citing local residents, OC Zakir said Kamal had gone out for his usual morning walk and was walking along the railway tracks when a train approached unexpectedly and hit him. He died at the scene.
