The Fire Service has formed a five-member committee to investigate Tuesday’s blaze in Dhaka’s Korail slum.

In a statement on Wednesday, the Fire Service said the committee has been asked to submit its report within 15 working days.

The committee is chaired by Mamunur Rashid, deputy director of operations and maintenance, with Assistant Director Kazi Nuruzzaman as member secretary.

The other members include Atish Chakma, deputy assistant director, Nazim Uddin Sarkar, senior station officer of Tejgaon Fire Station, and Sohrab Hossain, warehouse inspector of Dhaka-23.

The fire broke out around 5:30pm on Tuesday and was brought under control by 10:30pm after nearly five hours of firefighting. No casualties were reported.
