Bangladeshi Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has met with Chinese Premier Li Qiang.

The meeting was held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing at 5pm local time on Thursday, said the Prime Minister's Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Ruman.

He said, "The bilateral meeting between the two countries has begun. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is leading the high-level delegation from Bangladesh."

"The high-level delegation from China is being led by the Chinese premier.”

The prime minister is backed by a high-profile entourage including Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman, Information Minister Zahir Uddin Swapon, State Minister for Energy and Power Aninda Islam Amit, Foreign Advisor Humayun Kabir, Finance and Planning Advisor Rashed Hasan Al Mahmud Titumir, Education Advisor Mahdi Amin, and Foreign Secretary Asad Alam Siam, along with senior officials.

After the meeting, Prime Minister Li Qiang will host a dinner in honour of the Bangladeshi prime minister at the Great Hall.
