The burglars took away cash, gold ornaments and electronic gadgets at around 11am local time when High Commissioner Touhid Hossain and his family were visiting neighbouring state Zambia.
Hossain told bdnews24.com that three armed raiders looted valuables holding the domestic help and wife of an embassy official at gunpoint at his Pretoria residence.
They also beat up the duo.
The miscreants took away a television set, two laptops, a computer, cash and gold ornaments from the locker.
“My wife would have been alone on the house had we not gone to Zambia,” the former Foreign Secretary said.
He said that the South African police visited the spot.
In September last year, there was a failed robbery attempt at his residence and an armed robbery had occurred at Bangladesh High Commission office in Pretoria.
