Woman injured after crude bombs hurled from Moghbazar Flyover

Police say multiple explosions rocked the location within minutes, with at least one device thrown from a moving vehicle above the flyover

A female pedestrian has been injured after two crude bombs thrown from atop the Moghbazar Flyover exploded below, police have said.

A senior official of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s traffic division, speaking on condition of anonymity, said three explosions occurred in quick succession around 4:15pm near Shantinagar, Mouchak and Moghbazar.

Police believe the devices were hurled from a moving vehicle on the flyover.

“One of the crude bombs thrown from above exploded in the Mouchak area, injuring a woman,” the official said, adding that traffic police personnel rushed her to a nearby hospital for treatment.
