The Ministry of Religious Affairs has asked pilgrims who registered for the 2026 Hajj through government and private channels to deposit the remaining fees by Dec 31.

This instruction came in a statement by the ministry on Monday.

It said initially registered pilgrims must deposit the full package amount by Dec 31 in line with the Hajj packages and guidelines.

Failure to deposit the money within the stipulated time could make the pilgrimage uncertain, the ministry warned.

Initial registration for the 2026 Hajj began on Jul 27. In the first phase, the opportunity for initial registration was open until Oct 12, which was later extended to Oct 15.

The Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAAB) has announced three Hajj packages for those interested in going under private management.

The cost of the special Hajj package, which includes food and sacrifice, has been set at Tk 750,000.

The general Hajj package will cost Tk 550,000, while the affordable Hajj package has been fixed at Tk 510,000.

Three packages have also been announced under government management. The cost of Hajj Package-1 has been set at Tk 690,597, Package-2 at Tk 558,881, and Package-3 at Tk 467,167.

In addition, a package titled “General Hajj Package through Private Means” has been introduced, with the cost set at Tk 509,185.

The Hajj will be held on May 26, 2026, subject to the sighting of the moon.
