Fire guts waste cotton warehouse in Dhaka's Basabo

A fire has swept through a waste cotton warehouse in Dhaka’s Basabo. 

The fire broke out at the tin-roofed warehouse in the Khilgaon area shortly before noon on Sunday, according to the Fire Service. But no casualties have been reported.

Fire Service spokesman Anwarul Islam said they were alerted to the blaze at 11:58am.

Two units from Khilgaon Fire Station reached the scene at 12:04pm and brought the fire under control at 12:28pm.

The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage were not immediately known, Anwarul said.
