PM Tarique hands jobs to 74 more from families of July Uprising, disappearance victims

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has handed job appointment letters to 74 people from families affected by enforced disappearances and killings, as well as those killed or injured in the July Uprising.

The appointment letters were presented at a ceremony at Karabi Hall in the Prime Minister’s Office in Tejgaon on Saturday.

Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Ruman said 74 people had been given appointment letters, with 10 receiving theirs directly from the prime minister.

They included Ishfaq Ahmed, brother of enforced disappearance victim Iftekhar Ahmed Dinar, Moniruzzaman Hira, brother of Nuruzzaman Jony, Anan Hossain Nur, brother of Anwar Hossain Mahbub, Hasnain Reza, brother of Selim Reza Pintu, and Shammi Sultana, wife of Khaled Hossain Sohel.

Among those from the July Uprising who received letters from Tarique were Alal Ahmed, who lost his eyesight after being injured, Md Abul Hossain, father of Alvi, who was killed, Jartaj Parvin, mother of Ahnaf, who was killed, injured activist Kazi Saimum Siraj, and Mahbub Alam, brother of Israfil Islam.

Several recipients thanked the prime minister for the appointments and also called for justice over enforced disappearances and killings.
