The Dhaka Metro Rail service will be suspended for 40 minutes on Dec 16, Victory Day, for the safety of paratroopers.
Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) announced the decision in a press release on Monday afternoon.
The statement said: “A parachute jump will be conducted in the Tejgaon Old Airport area on the occasion of the great Victory Day.
"In the interest of the safety of the paratroopers, the metro rail will be temporarily closed on the 16th of December from 11:50am to 12:30pm."
Metro rail authorities say they sincerely apologise for the temporary inconvenience caused to passengers during this period.
