45th BCS results released after three years, 1,807 cleared for hiring

The Public Service Commission (PSC) has released the final results of the 45th BCS, nearly three years after the circular was issued, recommending 1,807 candidates for cadre posts.

The PSC published the results at 11pm on Wednesday, said spokesperson SM Matiur Rahman, with details now available on its website (http://www.bpsc.gov.bd/).

The final list shows 502 fewer candidates cleared the exam than the number of advertised posts.

Just hours before the results, the PSC issued the circular for the 50th BCS, while the written exam for the 47th BCS is set to start the next day.

The PSC, reconstituted after the interim government took charge, has been working to speed up the BCS processes, responding to long-standing calls from job seekers.

The 45th BCS circular was issued on Nov 30, 2022, announcing 2,309 cadre vacancies.

The preliminary examination was held on May 19, 2023, more than five months after applications closed.

A total of 268,119 candidates took part, and the results were released on Jun 6 that year.

The written exam ran from Jan 23 to Jan 31, 2024, with 6,558 candidates moving on to the viva voce held from Jul 8 to Nov 10.
