The incident occurred in front of Modular Garments in Ashulia’s Sarkar Market area around 5am on Friday, according to Abu Sayem Masum, senior station officer of the Zirabo Modern Fire Service.
No one has been injured in the incident, he said.
Citing witnesses, the Fire Service official said, “Two men on motorcycles came up, poured petrol on the pickup van, lit it on fire, and fled. Locals tried to bring the fire under control and reported the incident to the Fire Service.”
“Two Fire Service units then rushed to the spot to join firefighting efforts, but the locals had already put out the main fire by then.”
