The mortal remains of actress and content creator Kaarina Kaisar have been scheduled to arrive in Dhaka from India’s Chennai.

Her father, former national football team captain Kaisar Hamid, said on Saturday that the body will reach the capital on Sunday afternoon and will be taken to their residence in Banani DOHS.

“The body will then be taken to Gazaria in Munshiganj on Monday, where she will be buried at her maternal grandfather's home,” he told Glitz (glitz.bdnews24.com).

Kaarina had been fighting liver complications for over a week at a Dhaka hospital before her condition took a turn for the worse and she was put on life support.

On May 11, she was airlifted to Christian Medical College (CMC) Hospital in Vellore for advanced treatment. She died there on Friday night.

"She passed away in Chennai around 1am. Her blood pressure suddenly dropped and after that, it could not be [stabilised]," the father said.

Speaking from Chennai on Wednesday, Kaarina’s mother Lopa Kaisar said her daughter was not physically strong enough to go under the knife for a liver transplant or any major surgery.

She had a lot of fluid and phlegm in her lungs, said doctors, who were focusing more on controlling the infection and stabilising her. However, they could not go for surgery.

Before leaving for Australia for higher studies after her A Levels, Kaarina had worked as an intern at bdnews24.com's English desk.

Back home, she made her name as a content creator before steadily finding her footing as an actress in recent times, with screenwriting also becoming part of her craft.

Her credits include “Internship” and “36-24-36”.
