A total of 826 judges serving across three tiers of the lower judiciary have been promoted, with 250 of them elevated to the rank of district judge.
The Law and Justice Division of the law ministry issued separate orders on Wednesday, promoting judges and assigning them to new postings in one move.
Ministry spokesperson Rezaul Karim said 250 judges were promoted from additional district judge to district judge.
Another group of 294 judges were promoted from joint district judge to additional district judge, while 282 judges moved from senior assistant judge to joint district judge, he added.
The directives said the promotions were approved in consultation with the Supreme Court.
Judges have been instructed to hand over responsibilities to designated office heads by Nov 27 and join new postings by Dec 1.
Those on training, maternity leave, or serving abroad must return, complete handovers, and then assume their new roles.
A separate notification has assigned additional judges to new roles and locations.
