Police reshuffle brings new chiefs to CID, Highway Police, Police Telecom

21 senior police officers are transferred, including DIGs and additional DIGs

Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain is appointed chief of police’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

The government has reshuffled the leadership of police’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Highway Police, and Police Telecom.

The Ministry of Home Affairs on Sunday transferred 21 senior police officers, including deputy inspectors general (DIGs) and additional DIGs.

Among those recently promoted to additional inspector general, Md Mushfiqur Rahman has been posted to the Bangladesh Police Headquarters.

Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain, who had been serving as director of the National Security Intelligence (NSI), has been appointed chief of the CID.

Chattogram Range DIG Md Moniruzzaman has been made head of Police Telecom.

Faruk Ahmed, previously additional director general of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), has been appointed chief of the Highway Police.
