The explosion at Uttara’s Kamarpara has claimed one more life.
Enayet Ali, 30, died around 2:30pm on Tuesday, said the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery’s Assistant Professor Shawon Bin Rahman.
He had been undergoing treatment with burns to 45 percent of his body.
Enayet, an expatriate living in Dubai, had come to Bangladesh on leave and was visiting a cousin’s house with his family when he was injured in the explosion caused by a gas leak.
His cousin’s wife Sonia Akter, 24, was the first to die two days after the incident.
She had suffered burns on 100 percent of her body.
Sonia’s husband, identified only as Rubel, 27, their 3-year-old daughter known with a single name Roja, Enayet’s wife Dulara Khatun, 28, and son Junayed, 17, are among the eight others currently hospitalised with varying degrees of burns.
