State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir has met with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud on the sidelines of the 23rd OIC Extraordinary Council of Foreign Ministers meeting in Jeddah.
The Saudi minister said Bangladesh is among Saudi Arabia’s priority countries and stressed the importance of strengthening economic cooperation.
He noted growing interest among Saudi companies in Bangladesh and expressed interest in expanding investment and business engagement.
He also praised Bangladeshi expatriates’ contribution to the Kingdom’s development.
Humaiun handed over Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s letter to the Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the positive momentum in bilateral ties and reaffirmed their commitment to taking the partnership to a new height.
“Since the formation of the BNP-led government, a number of high-level visits have taken place between the two countries, creating fresh opportunities for advancing comprehensive cooperation across different sectors,” Humaiun said.
He also discussed defence cooperation and regional issues, expressed hope for future high-level visits and invited Faisal to visit Bangladesh at his convenience.
