Union council member hacked to death in Narail

A union council member has been hacked to death in Narail's Naragati, police say.

The victim, Moni Mia Sheikh, a member of Ward No. 1 of Jaynagor Union Council, came under attack in Char Jaynagar village around 11pm on Thursday, Naragati Police Station chief Abdur Rahim said.

He died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 3am on Friday while undergoing treatment.

Police are deployed in the area to prevent unrest.
