Firefighters were able to control the fire about one and a half hours after it broke out

A fire at the Gabtoli Shahi Mosque Slum located opposite the Gabtoli Bus Terminal in Dhaka has been brought under control on Thursday morning.
The fire was tamed at 4:36am, about one and a half hours after it broke out.
Fire Service spokesman Anwarul Islam said the Fire Service was informed of the blaze at 3:08am. The first firefighting unit reached the scene within four minutes, he said. Around 4:30am, eight firefighting units from Kalyanpur, Mohammadpur, Mirpur and Tejgaon Fire Station were working to douse the fire.
The Shahi Mosque Slum stands across the road from European University. Some bus garages and motor parts shops are also found in the vicinity.
