Launch services on the Daulatdia–Paturia route resume after 46 hours

Launch services on the Daulatdia–Paturia river route have resumed after being suspended for nearly 46 hours due to rough weather.

Operations restarted around 6:45am on Saturday, according to Mohammad Shimul, traffic supervisor at the BIWTA Daulatdia launch terminal.

The route was closed on Thursday morning to avoid accidents after adverse weather conditions, triggered by a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal, turned the Padma River turbulent from Wednesday night.

As the weather improved, launch services were cleared to resume on Saturday morning, said Shimul.
