The Election Commission (EC) will soon set regional deadlines for Bangladeshi expatriates to register for postal voting ahead of the parliamentary elections.
The postal voting app, scheduled to launch on Nov 18, will notify users of their registration period.

The EC will divide the world into regions, assigning each a minimum five-day window to register. Users will see their specific slot immediately upon downloading the app. The global registration process is expected to conclude within roughly four weeks.
The parliamentary election, likely scheduled for February, will be announced by the EC early next month, with a referendum also set to take place alongside the vote.

The entire initiative is managed under the “Out of Country Voting System and Implementation (OCV–SDI)” project.
Salim Ahmad Khan, team leader of the postal voting project, explained: “Registration deadlines will differ by region. For instance, it may start in South America, followed by parts of Asia.”

Expatriates are encouraged to download the app promptly to receive alerts and ensure their participation in the electoral process.
