Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has directed authorities to introduce a separate bus service for women in Dhaka.

The directive was issued on Monday during a meeting at the Secretariat with Road Transport and Bridges Minister Shaikh Rabiul Alam, according to the premier's Additional Press Secretary Atiqur Rahman Rumon.

“The prime minister sought updates on the overall condition of road transport and gave necessary instructions,” Rumon said.

“He directed the minister to launch a women’s bus service in the capital.”

The prime minister also instructed the housing and public works minister to complete renovation and development work at the mausoleum of his father and late president Ziaur Rahman in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar before Eid-ul-Fitr, the press aid said.
