An argument over queuing for petrol has ended in violence as three people have been stabbed and injured at Palashbari Filling Station in Gaibandha.
Police have detained a man in connection with the incident.
Palashbari Police chief Sarwar Alam said the attack occurred around 12:30pm on Thursday.
Panic swept through the filling station following the violent episode, briefly disrupting fuel supply.
Extra police personnel were deployed to restore order and bring the situation under control.
Among the injured, Kawsar Ali, 25, and Zahid Hasan, 23, were admitted to Palashbari Upazila Health Complex, while Shihab Mia, 23, received treatment at Rangpur Medical College Hospital.
The alleged assailant, Rezwan, 27, identified by a single name and detained by police, is a resident of Maheshpur in the town.
According to witnesses, motorcycles lined both sides of the station as riders waited to refuel.
Around noon, two bikes accidentally brushed against each other, sparking an argument between Rezwan and other riders, they said.
The dispute reportedly escalated quickly.
Police continue to investigate and identify all those involved.
"The supply of fuel has resumed after being temporarily suspended," Upazila administrator (UNO) Sheikh Jaber Ahmed said.
