3 Bangladeshis injured as gunmen open fire at Lisbon restaurant

Witnesses say two to three masked men arrived in a private car and fired indiscriminately

Three Bangladeshi men have been injured in a shooting at a restaurant in Portugal’s Lisbon.

Local media reported that gunmen opened fire late on Tuesday night at Ujan Bhati restaurant on Benforromocha Road, an area with a large Bangladeshi community.

The victims, aged between 29 and 42, were taken to hospital.

One was shot in the chest, another in the leg, and the third suffered a head injury, according to CNN Portugal.

Witnesses said two to three masked men arrived in a private car and fired indiscriminately.

Portugal police cordoned off the area and forensic teams collected evidence.

The Bangladesh Embassy in Lisbon said it is in contact with local authorities and monitoring medical and legal support for the injured.
