Police have recovered the motorcycle used in the attack on Inqilab Moncho Convenor Sharif Osman Hadi.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Dhaka Metropolitan Police said the motorcycle involved in the shooting had been recovered, along with a fake number plate that had been used at the time of the attack.
The number plate was found inside a manhole, police said.

Hadi, who rose to prominence during last year's July Uprising and the movement calling for a ban on the Awami League, had announced his intention to run as an independent candidate from the Dhaka-8 constituency in the upcoming election.
He was attacked on Dec 12 while campaigning in the capital's Bijoynagar area.
According to police, he was travelling in a moving battery-powered rickshaw when he was shot by an assailant riding pillion on a motorcycle. The bullet hit him in the head.
Hadi has sincce been flown to Singapore for advanced treatment.
The DMP said its Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit recovered a Honda Hornet motorcycle, a helmet, and a fake number plate allegedly used in the attack from the Banalata residential area in Agargaon on Sunday.
Meanwhile, an individual named Abdul Hannan was arrested by the RAB on suspicion of being the owner of the motorcycle.
He has been remanded to custody for questioning. However, it has not yet been confirmed whether Hannan has any links to the attempted murder.
The DMP said the CTTC team discovered that the motorcycle’s number plate had been altered after analysing CCTV footage.
“Based on a tip-off, the motorcycle and helmet were recovered from the ground floor parking of a house in Banalata residential area under Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police station. Later, the fake number plate was found abandoned inside a manhole,” the DMP said.
Police said they are conducting an “intensive” investigation to trace the owner of the motorcycle.
According to the DMP’s statement, the bike initially belonged to Abdur Rahman before being transferred through seven other individuals, including Shubho, Shahidul, Russell, Obaidul Islam, Anarul, and Obaidul.
Eventually, it was purchased in the name of Mainuddin Islam using the national ID of Md Kabir, an associate of Faisal Karim Masud, the main suspect in the attack.
