Rail services on the Dhaka-Mymensingh route have been disrupted after a fire broke out in the engine of a commuter train in Mymensingh's Trishal.
The incident occurred around 10am on Saturday when the train, en route from Dhaka to Dewanganj in Jamalpur, caught fire between Dhala and Aulia Nagar in Trishal, according to Mymensingh Railway Station Superintendent Nazmul Islam Khan.
“With the help of local residents, the fire was brought under control,” he said.
Authorities are working to restore train operations as soon as possible.
