The government has appointed Mahdi Amin, an advisor to the prime minister, and Abu Abdullah M Saleh, widely known as Saleh Shibli, the prime minister’s press secretary, as official spokespersons for the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

The PMO announced the appointments on Sunday.

The duo will be responsible for disseminating and providing official information related to the PMO to the media and other communication channels.

Mahdi, who previously served as the spokesperson for the BNP's election management committee, was appointed as an advisor to the prime minister with the rank of state minister last February.

Saleh Shibli, on the other hand, who holds the rank of secretary, is the press secretary to the premier. He also serves as the press secretary to the BNP chairman.
