Plaban Chandra Saha, assistant proctor and assistant professor of economics, was removed following a meeting of the SUST syndicate on Saturday.

“A probe committee was formed after a female student brought sexual harassment allegations against Plaban Chandra Saha,” said Dr Mohammed Mastabur Rahman, professor of Chemical Engineering and Polymer Science Department.

“The authorities decided to remove Saha after finding proof that he was involved in sexual misconduct,” Mastabur said.

Saha began his career at SUST in 2016 as a lecturer of Economics Department. The same year he was appointed assistant proctor of the university.

He was suspended from administrative duties on Oct 15 after the allegations became known.
