Gono Forum Presidium member Jaglul Haidar Afrik delivered the letter, signed by Kamal Hossain, to the Awami League’s headquarters in Dhanmondi around 12pm on Sunday. Office Assistant Alauddin and BM Masudul Hassan received the letter.

The first dialogue between the Awami League government and the Jatiya Oikya Front took place on Nov 1.

A 20-member delegation led by Kamal Hossain attended the talk. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir placed the demands on behalf of the Oikya Front, including the release of Khaleda Zia, election under a neutral government dissolving the parliament and reforms to the Election Commission.

That night Kamal Hossain said at a press conference that no solution had been reached.

Mirza Fakhrul, the leader of the largest party in the alliance, said they were not satisfied with the talks.

“In view of the seven points, further discussions may be held on a limited scale,” Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir told reporters.

The Oikya Front has already written to the Election Commission to postpone the announcement of the election schedule until the prime minister completes her discussions with all political parties.

“We hope that the dialogue will be held on a limited scale in future. We believe that these issues will be considered for resolving the current political crisis,” said Mirza Fakhrul.
