The prime minister said the protesters’ demands are in the process of being implemented during an event at Dhaka’s Ganabhaban on Sunday.

“A third party has taken the field and is bringing in people from outside Dhaka for violent activity. I have been concerned about this since I learned of it.”

“Who will take responsibility if the students are hurt?”

“Please take them back to classes,” she said, addressing guardians and teachers. “It is their duty to learn.”

Hasina assured that the protester’s demands would be carried out.

“We are implementing the demands they have made one by one,” she said.

“Traffic police will be assigned to schools and will oversee road crossings. Underpasses will be built, as will footbridges. But they must be used.”
