Two men arrested with nearly 6,000 yaba pills

Two men have been arrested with nearly 6,000 methamphetamine-based yaba tablets in Chattogram in the early hours of Monday, according to the Narcotics Control Department (NCD).

The detainees are Rashid Ahmed, 60, and Farid Ahmed, 52. They are the residents of Noakhali Para of Teknaf.

“They have been arrested from Bridge Ghat in Shah Amanat Setu area. After being questioned, they confessed to peddling yaba hidden in their rectums,” said Shamim Ahmed, Deputy Director of NCD Chattogram.

As many as 5,800 pieces of the contraband drug were found in their possession.

They will be prosecuted under the anti-narcotics law.
