A truck kills an elderly man in Gazipur

A man, 60, died on the spot after he was hit by a speeding truck on the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway on early Thursday. He was identified as Nobi Hossain, a resident of Mymensingh.

The incident took place in the Rangilabazar area under the Sreepur Upazila in Gazipur, said SI Md Rafiqul Islam of Mawna Highway Police Station. 

“A couple of days back, Nobi came to visit his son and was on his way to Rangilabazar around 7am. A truck heading for Mymensingh ran over Nobi while he was crossing the highway. The truck left the scene immediately after the accident.”

Police recovered the body and sent to Mawna Highway Police Station.
