Rape suspect dies in shootout with RAB in Cox’s Bazar
A rape suspect has died in a shootout in Cox’s Bazar, the Rapid Action Battalion or RAB has said.

Anwar Hossain stood accused of raping a schoolgirl at Napitkhali in the tourist district, said Cox’s Bazar-based RAB-7 Company Commander Major Md Ruhul Amin.
The 59-year-old raped the girl on Feb 11, according to the case.
Major Amin told bdnews24.com that the shootout erupted early on Wednesday at Napitkhali in Badarkhali Union when the elite police conducted a raid on a tip-off.
“RAB personnel retaliated as Anwar and his men opened fire. Anwar got shot and died on the spot while the rest managed to flee,” he said adding that a firearm and ammunition were found at the scene.
