The detainees are 40-year-old Jahangir Alam Bablu and 25-year-old Asharful Islam Dhali, said Inspector Shahriar Hasan of Satkhira DB.

Police arrested Ashraful and seized 50 bullets from his home on Monday. Jahangir was later traced on information provided by Ashraful.

Both the detainees trained in militancy in a den of Ansarullah Bangla Team in Dhaka’s Mirpur two years back, according to DB.

“They appear to be ordinary farmers but are involved in militancy. They had plans to carry out anarchy on a large scale during the upcoming general elections,” Inspector Hasan told bdnews24.com.

Two cases under the arms act and the anti-militancy act have been filed against them.
