No casualties were reported, but fire-fighters rescued at least 30 people, who were trapped on the roof of the six-storey factory building.
The fire started from the third-floor, according to Haque.
“The people inside the factory rushed to the roof after the flames erupted. They were rescued around 6am, when the fire was under control,” he told bdnews24.com.
The cause of the fire is yet to be known, added the fire service official.
