Mob beats man to death in Faridpur
Villagers have beaten a ‘cattle thief’ to death in Faridpur’s Sadar Upazila.

The incident occurred in Beribadh village around 3am on Sunday, said Faridpur Kotowali Police Station OC Nazimuddin.
The victim, Mati Sheikh Bari, 29, was a resident of Bilmamudpur village in the same union.
Five people on a mini-truck were attempting to steal cows from the sheds in Beribadh, said Aliabad Union Parishad Chairman Omor Farooq Dablu.
Locals noticed the theft and chased down Mati, while the others fled.
“Mati was fatally injured in the mob beating,” he said. “He was taken to Faridpur Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.”
The angry villagers also set fire to the cattle thieves’ truck and a fire service team doused the flames.
