One killed in Tejgaon ‘shootout’
A man has been killed in an alleged shootout with police in Dhaka’s Tejgaon industrial area.

Police identified the man as 30-year-old Abdullah, a member of a robbery gang.
The incident occurred around 3:30am on Tuesday night in the BG Press Field area, said Tejgaon Industrial Area Police SI Jahangir Alam.
Police started an operation in the area after receiving information that the gang was preparing to commit robberies in the area, he told bdnews24.com.
“When police arrived on the scene the gang opened fire. One of the gang members was injured when police returned fire. The others fled.”
The wounded man was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
A firearm was recovered from the scene, SI Alam said.
